If you’re unfamiliar with this aesthetically pleasing, bright magenta-colored fruit treat, don’t feel ashamed. It’s likely you DO know it, only by another name:

Indigenous to Central and South America, the pitaya is now widely grown all over the world. This superfruit grows and thrives in arid climates (cactus plants in the Americas), and its stem is what provides the fruit with its moisture. Many speculate that this is what makes it so uniquely delicious.

 

Considered a prized fruit in many cultures, the pitaya’s rich, pink/magenta-colored inside has been eaten for centuries. A good source of Vitamin C, fiber and magnesium, it’s the perfect way to start your day, energize your body before exercising, or refresh after a walk or workout.

Pitaya Probiotic Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients: 

⚡️  1/4 cup coconut milk

🍌  4 frozen bananas ⁠

⭐️  1/2 cup frozen pitaya

💊  1 capsule Just Thrive Probiotic⁠

🌱  decorate with fresh kiwi and dark choco (optional) 

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients one at a time into your blender
  2. Blend all ingredients until the mixture is rich and creamy
  3. Serve
  4. For added aesthetic pleasure, decorate your bowl with fresh kiwi and dark choco
